About Me: Years from now when your child is no longer a baby, I’d like for you to be able to look back on this time and feel great about yourself and your experiences. You are doing powerful things right now doing only what YOU can do: growing and birthing your baby. It is my wish that you feel well supported during this time.

I am a BIRTHING FROM WITHIN advanced mentor and an advanced DONA certified doula. For those who prefer the birth-hypnosis experience, I am also a trained Hypno-Doula. In addition, I make sure to update my education on a yearly basis. In as many ways as birth giving is similar between women, it is unique as well. We all experience birth and life in ways that are our very own. I have varied my training for that purpose. As I do this work, my first goal is to provide respect and loving support of your unique birth wishes.

Please visit my website or contact me. I'd love to connect with you. If I'm unavailable around your due date I'd be happy to refer you to other great doulas in our area. I've been in practice since 2006 and have had the opportunity to learn from many fantastic birth professionals. Let's talk.

About Me: Specialties: High-risk, VBAC, VBAMC, Diabetes during pregnancy (Type 1, Type 2, Gestational).

I first fell in love with birth when I started doing research during my first pregnancy. I knew that I wanted to have an un-medicated labor, and having Type 1 Diabetes would make it harder to achieve, being classified as high-risk and all. During my research I realized that many women don’t know their options during childbirth and many don’t even realize they HAVE options. After having my eyes opened into this magical world of birth I could not close them again, nor did I want to. I want to help every woman feel empowered, supported, knowledgeable, and excited for the birth of their baby.

I am a highly trained and skilled doula in the height of my life's passion. I am in my element when, after weeks of preparation and education, I see a woman and her partner share a secret, knowing look of shimmering emotion that shows all their hard work paid off, in one of life's most precious moments. This moment is further enhanced for me when the woman’s partner has been encouraged and taught how to help and has been a key element in the pregnancy and labor process, without which, things may have turned out much differently. I feel very strongly about being an advisor to birthing women so they can have the birth they intend, without unnecessary interventions due to lack of knowledge or support.

My goal as a doula is simply to improve birth – by helping to reduce physical and emotional trauma, by empowering women through knowledge and practice, and to advocate for safer birth experiences led by a woman’s own body.

I have had one un-medicated hospital birth, one C-section, and one un-medicated VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean) in the hospital. I believe that regardless of circumstance, all births can be made beautiful with the right support and empowerment. I have experience helping women with un-medicated, medicated, cesarean, and VBAC births. I also have personal and professional experience with high-risk pregnancies, diabetes during pregnancy, and VBACs. I can skillfully educate on things that others may not have reason to know.

I am the Chapter Leader of ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) of Weber/Davis County. In addition to doula services, I also provide The Bradley Method® classes, placenta encapsulation, moxibustion to help turn breech babies, and Bengkung belly binding. I look forward to helping you have a peaceful birth day. #HaveAPeacefulBirthDay

About Me: Hi! I'm Heather. As a doula, your vision for your ideal birth is my goal. I can help you and your partner have a positive experience with pregnancy and birth by cultivating confidence and providing individualized support.

I wasn't always interested in birth. Like many, I considered birth a topic to be avoided. This changed when my psychology professor at the University of Utah presented research on the clear benefits of having a doula. My passion for birth work grew as I came to understand how women could have empowering and joyful birth experiences when given respect, options, and evidence-based information. In 2015 I completed my training in the Curtis Method HypnoDoula program.

My journey in birth work took a unique turn when I completed a crisis response internship at St Mark's Hospital. I now work as a multi-faith chaplain for hospice, providing counseling and a comforting presence to clients and their families at end-of-life. I've enjoyed seeing how my experience as a chaplain informs and improves my work as a doula, and vice versa.

Between my work as a doula and healthcare chaplain, I have worked advocating for compassionate healthcare for four years. I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Utah, and have advanced training to support those for whom birth may feel more emotionally complex, such as those with a history of trauma, or loss, intended adoption, or experiencing faith transition. I am very comfortable with expressions of spirituality in birth. If feeling strongly connected with your partner during your birthing time is important to you, I can take care of many of the small details of the birth space and offer helpful guidance to enable your partner to give you their full attention and be most effective in their support.

I am a mother of two and wife of one. I love outdoor adventures, studying rock & roll history, and growing things, but my favorite pastime is laughing.

If you have questions on your mind regarding your pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or baby feeding, I offer free, no obligation consultations where you can ask me anything. Let's talk.

About Me: Hello,
I am excited to be offering my services here in Southern Utah. I was born and raised in Cedar City. Received my Registered Nurse nursing degree in 1995. Since that time I have worked as a RN originally doing Med/Surg and home health in Cedar City. It was there I fell in love with all aspects of OBGYN hospital care. I left Southern Utah as a travel nurse, discovered the beautiful Central Coast and Montery and decided to make it my home. For the last 17 years have worked as an RNC charge Nurse in Labor and Delivery, NICU as well as Post Partum and Pediatrics. In 1995 I was attuned to Reiki at a level ll Practioner and have had my own private practice part time ever since. I have since that time became a RMT in Usui Reiki, Karuna Reiki as well as Holy Fire ll Reiki. For those of you unfamiliar with Reiki it is a gentle yet powerful energy work that complements other healing and modites including but not limited to: infertility, pre-pregnancy, labor and delivery, post-op partum as well as bereavement care. I have had clients as young as newborn all the way through 86 years of age. I work with various stages of life and conditions as well. Reiki works not only on physical and emotional areas of healing. But helps one become more balanced and centered, and has been proven to decrease anxiety and depression as many other emotional and mental issues. It is a wonderful energy to help one relieve pain and find that "sweet spot" while laboring as peacefully as possible.
In 2001 I moved to the Central coast of California and continued my education receiving my RNC in Maternal Child health.
Working as an RN and Reiki Doula here has given me the honor of being part of so very many wonderful home and hospital births. My goal as your Doula is to support the mother and partner in evidenced based care, assisting your medical care team with as painfree labor and delivery as possible utilizing my Reiki skills, aromatherapy and hypno birthing, I do berevement care as well.
As we all know, mother and child need special care, comfort, and safety, especially during pregnancy ,birth, and the first months of life when the fundamentals of health and well-being are established for the young one. The mother has a hard job through this time because her body needs to give and give and give again to enable the baby to grow and be healthy and well. Pregnancy and giving birth is special situation in life of a women in many ways. She needs spiritual and emotional support, as well as medical and other physical care.
As your doula I whork with you in educating you to the fullest of my capabilities throughout each and every step of this wonderful yet often "scary" process. I aim to help you create the birth of your families dreams. I am also "Baby Friendly lactation" educated and trained to assist with breast feeding issues as well.
I look forward to hearing from you as you enter this journey of Doula assisted birth. I service those in Iron County, and Beaver County at this time.
For a free consultation consultation and interview please feel free to contact me, I look forward to hearing from you!

About Me: I’m Stacie and I’m passionate about birth. I love being a doula, guiding women through the marathon of childbirth. I believe couples can replace any of their birth fears with true confidence and peace.
I have been happily married for 16 years and have 3 lovely children. I had one epidural birth as well as two unmedicated births. The support I received from my doula was completely priceless. My husband’s immediate response, after our first birth with a doula, was that we would never have another baby without a doula. We were sold! Looking back, the labors and births of my babies are truly defining moments in my life. I will forever cherish the depth of personal awareness and strength I gained on those days.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development from Brigham Young University. Since having my children, I have been a full time mother and have loved every minute. Once all of my kids started school, I began my doula work (2015). I am a certified birth doula through Doulas Of North America (DONA), and am also an Advanced Hypnodoula, Curtis Method. In addition, I teach Childbirth Preparation classes to expectant couples. I have special interest in spreading awareness about breast and ovarian cancer risk and in supporting women who have been touched by cancer or who have the BRCA gene mutation.
I grew up in Utah County, but have lived in Davis County for the past 11 years. Our family loves living in Bountiful. I provide my services to women throughout Salt Lake, Davis, & Weber Counties. In my free time I like to hike, cook, volunteer at my kids schools, perform musical theatre, read, organize things, and play cards/board games with my family.

About Me: As women we are forever serving others in our many roles - mama, partner, employee, wife and whatever combination or addition you may want to add.

The birth of a child is so special. It is a time that you want to be as close to perfect as possible. A time when you need to take a step back and appreciate the miracles and resources around you. Achieving this requires you to solicit positive support from people around you that you trust.

Allow me to serve you by taking on the responsibilities for a moment. Let me educate and prepare you for such a cherished moment. A moment that is better experienced with a team around you, a team you trust and feel safe with. I can be part of that team, helping to empower you through every step of your story.

Allow yourself to be - to tune in to what your heart and body know to be true. Allow me to take care of the superficial so you can tune into yourself and your baby - allowing both of you to prepare and get to know each other.

Every story is unique. There will be things you love and things you hope can be different. But if you allow yourself to be, and flow with your incredible strength and intuition, you will have no regrets.

What will be, will be.

About Me: Hi! I'm Dezarae Weyburn, co-owner and member of New Rhythm Doulas, LLC. I married my high school sweetheart in 2011 and started a family late the following year. I'm the mother to two fiercely independent girls that have their daddy’s eyes. I found my interest in birth while pregnant with my oldest, and it’s just grown from there. I attended my first birth as a doula in 2013, and it just reconfirmed that doula work was what I am supposed to be doing. I recently started working in a partnership, which allows me the freedom to more easily serve my clients and balance motherhood. We work with some amazing women in our community to provide the option for placenta encapsulation or prenatal massage for our clients.
I have experience serving young mothers, plus sized mothers, and mothers of premature babies. I personally experienced a NICU stay with my oldest, and my heart goes out to all mothers that have to be separated from their babies for any length of time. I have experienced postpartum depression and anxiety after both of my pregnancies and I am passionate about providing support and love for women experiencing any maternal mental health issues.
I believe in women. We are incredible, strong, and so smart. Women have the innate wisdom to birth, breastfeed, and parent. My goal as a doula is to help you tap into your "mommy gut" and make the best decisions you can for your family. I feel that my role is not to provide you with strength, but to help you use your own strength.

About Me: Hi! I’m Ashlie Hashimoto and I first learned about doulas eight years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. Just like every mother, I began to search out options for my birth. This led to me to learning about doulas, a word in which I hadn’t even heard before this point. As soon as I educated myself, I knew I needed one on my team, so I hired an amazing woman to help my partner and I on this wild ride of pregnancy and into parenthood. Fast forward eight years and here I am now serving women and helping families enter a new chapter in their lives!

I've now been a birth doula for over 4 years and in that time have attended over a 100 births. In that time I've learned so much and my passion and love for my job just keeps growing. I believe that birth is birth is birth, be that in a hospital or at home. Everyone deserves to be supported in whatever that looks like. My end goal is that families felt like that had options and were in charge of their own process whatever that may be.

About Me: I started my path towards being a Birth & Postpartum Doula when I attended the University of Utah in 2005. I studied in depth: Bartenieff Fundamentals, Somatics, Feldenkrais Method, Anatomy, Kinesiology, Childhood Development, Teaching Methods along with Various Traditional Dance Styles. These subject matters helped me deeply understand human development, effective ways to educate another child/adult & movement of the body.

In 2009, I graduated from the University of Utah with my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Modern Dance & Education. I started teaching in various settings through the public & private school sectors.

I received my Yoga Teacher Training through Prana Yoga Studio in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2012. Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Mantra & Meditation work peaked my interest during training. I also fell in love with learning about Ayurvedic medicine and I continue to study at great lengths today. This year I studied through Utah Prenatal Yoga and received my prenatal yoga training. My training helped me develop new, diverse ways to keeping the body and mind connected through a balanced, realistic approach.

In 2012, I started working privately with prenatal yoga clients through the duration of their pregnancy. I wanted to ensure clients learned through the yoga scope a balanced diet, coping skills and physical comforts for during labor, delivery & the postpartum period. Currently, I am teaching prenatal/postpartum yoga classes privately and through hospital supported progams in Salt Lake City. I am also teaching Prenatal Yoga on Thursday's at Centered City Yoga from 7:30-8:45 PM.

Since 2015, I have taught healing, restorative yoga & dance classes to sexual assault survivors through UVU & HelpingSAVE. Because I am a teacher for groups healing from trauma I have taken extra therapeutic healing, anxiety reduction & suicide prevention trainings.

In 2015, I received my Birth and Postpartum Doula Certifications through DONA International. I was trained in California, one of the most progressive birth states in America. I received my CD(DONA) and PCD(DONA) accreditation from DONA International in the summer of 2016. This extra education was important to me so I could confidently educate parents on the ever-changing birth and postpartum stages with the most up to date facts and research.

I am working on my ICEA, Childbirth Education Training, and will teach at St. Marks Hospital for the 6 week Childbirth Education Classes, starting in January 2019.

I have helped many families on the road to parenthood & continue to do so whether it’s the first or fifth. I am continually studying to improving my knowledge of the body, the process of prenatal care, labor support & postpartum infrastructure.

Doula work is so important to me because it provides parents with an un-biased education and skills to having a safe, satisfying birth and postpartum experience. A supportive start into a new childs life can be the answer to developing happier children, more evolved adults, caring parents & an overall healthier lifestyle.
Knowledge is the key ingredient to self-confidence & personal power. With these things we can create a better world to live in & sustain a life that is desired and loved.

In my free time I enjoy spending my time learning, teaching & exploring. I am always on the move keeping myself actively participating in my community. I am a tea lover, always hunting for something unique to make tonics and tinctures with. My partner & I have two cats, an organic garden & a wildlife habitat with birds, squirrels, butterflies and owls.

I also enjoy working with fathers and empowering them with knowledge of how to be a true support to their partners.

Birth Philosophy:
It is an honor to be invited into the birth space. Whatever that space looks like for you, it is my role to support you to have a voice, to know you have choices, and to feel confident and supported in your decisions. When these elements are considered essential, you are set up to leave the birth space feeling empowered, feeling connected to your baby and your partner, and feeling like you are the champion of your story no matter where or how you birth.

Postpartum Services:
I love assisting families as they integrate a new little member into their lives. It can be one of the most challenging transitions a family can make. It can be especially challenging when parents are sleep deprived to handle the demands of a new baby. I assist parents with information on infant care, teach techniques for helping baby eat or sleep, and love assisting with overnight care so parents can get much needed rest. I have many years of experience working with babies and twins.

About Me: I am a medical social worker turned Doula with a master’s degree in social work and a bachelor’s degree in psychology. My passion for birth and mothering came in 2015 when I did a rotation through labor and delivery in three hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley. Since that time, I have attended workshops and training courses focusing on health, wellness, and comforting measures during pregnancy and labor. As a natural born advocate, my goal as your doula is to help you achieve the birth experience you dream of having and to provide you with information and resources during your pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum period. The following are a few skill sets that set me apart as a doula: I have extensive working experience with both trauma and postpartum depression and feel comfortable helping women if or when these issues arise. I have spent six years living overseas and have the utmost cultural sensitivity. Also, I am proficient in American Sign Language, which has been a really positive part of my life. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your partner to discuss how I can be of help during this transformative time for you and your family.

About Me:

I am so glad you've decided to find someone who you believe could make your birth as beautiful and as satisfying as you, and every woman/family deserves. As your doula my job is to make you feel informed (empowered), safe, cared for, listened to, and completely supported throughout your pregnancy, birth and postpartum days.

Although fairly new to the scene, my intrigue and education to the birth world started 7 years ago when I met an incredibly inspiring Doula, Birth Advocate, and soon to be Midwife in Vancouver, Canada (my hometown). I feel so fortunate to have received so much knowledge before having my own home birth of my son in 2016. I am humbled, yet empowered by everything that birth, pregnancy, and [sadly] loss has taught me.

This quote was somewhat over my head when I read it in my midwife's office, yet it caught my eye and has stayed with me ever since. Of course, it made complete sense after my birth. And although it was not "perfect", it was mine and it was beautiful. That is what I hope every woman across the Universe gets to feel; whether it's their first birth or fifth, at the hospital, home or birth center. No judgment. Only encouragement and support.

I attended the magnificent Kristi Ridd- Young's DONA certified Doula training, and am quickly becoming a birth nerd. I plan on staying current and up to date through workshops and conferences throughout the year. I am also a certified Anna Forrest Yoga teacher and would love to help you keep your body out of pain during pregnancy with short, non-intimidating yoga sequences, if you so desire.

Unfortunately, I have now become an expert on infant "loss" due to my son's passing. If you are on this site due to preterm loss, an unexpected diagnosis, or infant loss, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or another bereavement doula. A doula cannot take your pain away, but they can hold space for you, care for you, listen, and help you advocate for your rights as a parent. I specialize in all of the above and offer "blessing way ceremonies" for end of life transitions.

Wishing you the birth you dream of.

With kindness-

About Me: My name is Meagan Heaton. I am a Salt Lake City doula including its surrounding areas (Utah/Davis County, Park City, and Tooele)
My whole life I’ve had a deep passion for babies and dreamed of being a labor and delivery nurse for years. I have always felt the desire to help women and infants. After I got pregnant with my first child I became even more aware of just how in love I was with not only babies, but with Pregnancy, Labor, Child Birth and everything that comes after.
My first two children were born via Cesarean Section. Going into the second pregnancy I had an ending goal of a VBAC. My nurse was also a doula and her and I chatted all about doula’s and their roles in a birth setting. She was so wonderful, I was grateful that she was present for most of my birth. After the birth of my second daughter I learned more about the importance of a doula in all types of birth plans. It was soon after that I realized that I really wanted to become a birth doula. I have learned so much along my journey and I can’t wait to keep learning. I recently had my third child and was able to achieve my Vaginal Birth after two Cesareans and it was INCREDIBlE! (feel free to read more about that on my website)

As your Salt Lake City doula I will bring all my passion, love, education and commitment to you, you’re partner and you’re baby. I am so excited for this journey that I have chosen and hope to help many couples through one of the most amazing events of their lives.

Primary Service: Birth Doula

About Me: I'm a Doula of North America (DONA) certified birth doula; providing clients with preparation and support for their unique childbirth experience. Over the last 5 years I’ve helped countless families achieve their birth goals! My ability to help facilitate and create the birth experience parent’s desire is unparalleled.

I've received advanced training in breastfeeding, HypnoBirthing, and The Bradley Method of Husband Coached Childbirth and I'm a proud board member for the Utah Doula Association. I support families through a variety of birthing styles, including: water births, vaginal births, cesarean births (planned and unplanned), VBACs (vaginal birth after cesarean), hospital, birth center, and home births.

Clients enjoy: individualized preparation, evidence based information for informed decision making, proven comfort techniques for easier labor and delivery, partner support and engagement for a connected experience, and encouragement and motivation every step of the way!

I grew up in Utah and graduated from Utah State University. Shortly after graduating, I moved to Salt Lake City where I met my husband. We currently live in the Bountidul area and are blessed to have three children which bring sunshine into our home everyday! I enjoy doing yoga, snowboarding, cooking and gardening. I love being outdoors and spending time with my family, camping and hiking in the mountains. I have a zest for life and enjoy learning and trying new things.

My vow to families is to guide them through this special journey; helping them have a positive, empowering, and unique childbirth experience!

When a woman becomes pregnant she begins a very amazing and special journey. One of my favorite birth quotes says, “To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and distressingly inhabited. Soul and spirit are stretched -- along with body -- making pregnancy a time of transition, growth, and profound beginnings." ~Anne Christian Buchanan and Debra K. Kingsporn

With the birth of my first child, I found that a spark was ignited within me. This spark led me to question society’s popular view on birth and gave me strength to follow my heart. I was in awe of my growing belly and my body’s ability to carry and foster a developing baby. I realized that childbirth holds the power to transform women. Giving birth to my son was one of the most amazing, hard, indescribable, and sacred things I’ve ever done.

I want to help women learn, just as I did, that they are powerful, capable, and strong. I want each woman to know her inner strength and trust in her body’s ability to give birth. I believe every woman, and her partner, should invest time and energy into preparing and educating themselves about the process of birth and their choices. As a doula, it’s my role to help facilitate and create the birth experience that parent’s desire.

As a doula, I provide support, encouragement, information, and care to each mother and her partner. I like what author and birth advocate, Marssden Wagner says, “…Respecting the woman as an important and valuable human being and making certain that the woman’s experience while giving birth is fulfilling and empowering, is not just a nice extra, it is absolutely essential as it makes the woman strong and therefore makes society strong.”

As a doula, I am there in addition to, not instead of the partner. The mother’s partner is essential in providing support; they bring intimate knowledge about the mother and love for her and their child that no one else can. It is my role to help the partner support her, ultimately making relationships stronger and bonds tighter in only a way that the birth experience can. With a doula present, the pressure on the partner is decreased, and I can help him participate at a level he is comfortable with; guiding him in effective ways to help the mother through labor.

I also feel that there are times when pain medication and interventions are needed and appropriate. However, too often these decisions are made from fear, convenience, or lack of information. As a doula, it is my role to help the couple understand their options, ask the right questions, and take the time needed to make the best decisions for them. I believe that any well-educated decision, made without pressure or fear, is the right one for a laboring couple and as their doula I support couples in their decisions.

The journey of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood is powerful and inspiring. My vow to families is to guide them through this remarkable journey; helping them to realize the strength and beauty within themselves. The birth experience should be one of joy, love, and empowerment.

About Me: Years from now when your child is no longer a baby, I’d like for you to be able to look back on this time and feel great about yourself and your experiences. You are doing powerful stuff right now doing only what YOU can do: growing and birthing your baby. It is my wish that you feel well supported during this time.
I am a BIRTHING FROM WITHIN mentor and an certified Advanced DONA doula. I am also a trained Hypno-Doula. In addition to that, I make sure to update my education on a yearly basis. I have varied my training because I find it important to have the tools necessary in order to meet people where they are on their personal birth journey. In as many ways as birth giving is similar between women, it is unique as well. We all experience birth and life in ways that are our very own. As I do this work, my first goal is to provide respect and loving support of your unique birth wishes.
There is always more to learn and as the science changes, I’d like to know about it. One thing that doesn’t change though is the benefit of having another woman with a knowledge of birth and a supportive heart by your side. Women have been assisting women in this way for thousands of years. I absolutely love being one in a line of women that support others in this way. I've been practicing since 2006. Feel free to visit my website for more information. I would be honored to meet with you so that we may discover if we are a good fit.

Since then, I have worked on many pregnant and postpartum women who have benefited from massage and doula services
I am a mother of two boys and two girls, and took Lauralyn Curtis's Hypnobirthing class and had wonderful births utilizing those techniques. I believe in empowering women with the knowledge of all the many options available to the pregnant mother. I believe that touch is vital to healing, and is incredibly powerful in aiding relaxation and alleviating pain and discomfort.

On a physiological level, our bodies change so drastically so quickly as we go through the process of bringing a baby into this world, that it is no wonder we are met with a variety of aches and pains, and that our bodies can feel foreign to us. Our ligaments, joints, muscles and skin are all being pulled and stretched and strained, and we experience an imbalance between them all. It is important to help the body transition, and relax, and strengthen what is weak and tired so that we can relieve the pain caused from the imbalance. Touch is very powerful. The right touch can be the ultimate healer, more powerful than any drug. It can be the difference between life and death.Truthfully, we cannot live without touch. No drug can substitute it. I see dramatic, real life changes in my client's quality of life every day, and they are healthier inside and out. It only makes sense to use massage during the most physically challenging and changing thing we will ever go through.

About Me: From a young age, I have always thought birth should be a natural occurrence. My mom birthed all of us naturally, including myself, and my twin sister. That seems to have just stuck in my brain, and I love it! I also love the advances in modern medicine, that save so many lives. Being a doula is about helping you find the right balance for your birth.

As I have continued on this path I have found that I love supporting women, in all aspects of pregnancy and postpartum. I am learning that more women need postpartum support. We need to know the options we have, and the support there is available. I struggled through my last postpartum period, feeling like I had no one to turn to, and that my circumstance was not dire enough to warrant help. I don't want anyone else feeling that way, if I can help them. We all need help sometime. We all are worthy of the help we need.

I would love to help you prepare for your birth and postpartum experience. I would love to be there every step of the way, so you're not alone. I would love to help you know the right questions to ask to get the help you need.

About Me: My passion is to make ALL women feel like they are in control during pregnancy, labor, and birth no matter how that baby arrives. All women should feel strengthened and supported on their birthing day. I feel very strongly that a woman be empowered to decide where and how she wants to birth based on the needs of her and her family, having as much knowledge as possible, and to do so without judgment. My goal as a doula and the founder of Utah VBAC Link is to provide that support and knowledge and provide you with the tools you need to navigate your individual journey.

With all that being said, my specialty is VBAC and unmedicated birth. I believe that birth flows most seamlessly when it is unhindered and intuitive, by allowing a woman's own instincts to guide her through.

About Me:
Who am I? Mother of 3 amazing boys and 1 darling little girl. Childbirth Educator for over 13 years, and Birth Doula for 11 years. I am an advocate for parents and children. My desire is to inform parents to be educated about their options for birth and parenting. I have helped over 300 couples have a beautiful birth.

I want everyone to have a safe and fulfilling birth. When I was pregnant with my first son Joshua, I was terrified about what was to come. I must confess that I thought that I would die either from the pain or from the pain medication. I was afraid of the experience that was looming ahead of me. I was also afraid that once the baby was born, that I wouldn’t really know how to care for and nurture him the way I should.

So, I went to work. Reading books, watching birth videos, obtaining any information that I could get my hands on to find out what I was “in” for. At the recommendation of my obstetrician, I took natural childbirth classes with my husband Matt. The classes were good, but I was skeptical that I could give birth without any pain medication. I really do not do well when it comes to pain! We finished the classes and waited for the day to come, knowing in the back of my mind that I could always ask for the epidural if I needed to.

After multiple (like 20) false alarms, I finally went into labor just 3 days before my due date. Since I had had so many contractions already, I didn’t really believe that it was in labor until I had already been in labor for about 6-7 hours. It wasn’t until I was standing up on a ladder helping my husband install a ceiling fan and having a particularly strong contraction, that I realized that I should probably start timing my contractions. They were about 10 minutes apart at 8pm on June 2nd, 2002. The contractions were strong and tiring but manageable. I labored through the night, sleeping as much as I could, but still waking up periodically with an intense contraction here and there. By the morning I was working hard and needed to be upright with my contractions. I asked Matt to rub my back and help me through them. After a few hours, I thought it would be a good time to call the OB. My contractions were then 5 minutes apart, 1 min long and getting pretty intense. She said that I could wait a little while at home or I could go right in to the hospital. I felt like I should head in right away. So we drove down from Northglenn, CO to Presbyterian/St. Lukes Hospital in Denver. It is about a 45 min drive in traffic.

The drive was the WORST! Every bump and pothole in the road was awful. I arrived at the hospital around 1:30pm. When I walked up to the nurses station and told them calmly that I was in labor, they kind of gave me a “yeah right” look and took me back to the room. After a bunch of paperwork and questions the nurse finally checked my cervix and was super surprised to find that I was already at 5cm. She then told me that it would probably still be a while. Shortly after she left the room, I decided to get in the jetted tub and just hang out there for a while. Once I settled in, the contractions became more intense and I got quite nauseated. So I decided to get out of the tub. Once I did, I vomited, yay(can you hear the sarcasm?). After that, I felt a very strong bulging sensation and pressure near the birth canal. So we called the nurse back in to check. She said that I probably hadn’t changed much, but that she would check anyway. I was at 8cm with a bulging bag of waters. That is why I was feeling all that pressure!

I had one more contraction and my water broke. It was a lot of water and the pressure finally subsided for a brief moment. Then the real pressure began. One more contraction and I told the nurse that I wanted to push! She said that I wasn’t ready and that I needed to wait for the OB to arrive, she was on her way. I told her to check again! 9cm! One more contraction happened and I couldn’t control my body, it pushed for me. The nurse told me not to push but I couldn’t help it, my body had taken over! I told her to check again. 10cm! She still told me not to push because the doctor was not there yet. I told her that I didn’t care and that I was going to push anyway. I pushed for about 15 min, the doctor showed up somewhere in that time and I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy!

I was overwhelmed and relieved and Matt exclaimed, “You didn’t have any drugs!” I was so amazed that it never occurred to me during that process to even ask for them. It was a hard, tiring, and sometimes intense experience, but not the awful, horrible, painful experience that I had anticipated.

My body was so very perfectly made to do this! I was so thrilled and amazed by the whole experience. I was able to breastfeed right away and keep my baby with me. I felt tired, but I also felt great! I was able to move and walk around easily after the birth.

I will forever be grateful for that experience because it changed me forever and shaped who I am as a mother. Holding my little Joshua in my arms for the first time was such a beautiful, amazing, life altering experience.

So fast forward to now. My son Joshua is now 16 yrs old and soon to be a Junior in High School. James is 14, Nathan is 11, and Aubrie 9yrs. Their births were all unique, just like the kids themselves. Each birth and each child has taught me something different about myself and about life.

What can I do for you? call me or email email me to schedule an appointment. I offer a free consultation for anyone interested in my services.

About Me: My first name, Kjell, is hard to read but easy to pronounce: "Shell."

I’m married and have four busy kids, and I truly enjoy spending time with my them. I love to see my kids as they grow, laugh, and (hopefully!) eat the dinner I make without any complaints or negotiating! Unquestionably, my family means more to me than anything. In addition to my family, my passion in life revolves around all things to do with health, wellness, fitness, birth, and empowering people.

I am passionate about helping others to see their bodies for what they can DO, not for what they look like. I really enjoy helping people learn to trust their bodies. After all, our bodies are amazing entities built for movement and life! I believe that a person's body is strong and capable of going through and doing hard things. As a burpee-loving personal trainer/boot camp instructor and compassionate doula, I am here to help facilitate a peaceful yet empowering birth experience, and to bring strength to the birthing atmosphere. I am certified through DONA International.

My Mission
As a doula, my mission is to serve anyone with a desire to birth in their own unique way. My vision is to create a safe space for all people, including those who challenge societal cloaks regarding gender, age, and physical capabilities. I will draw from the experience of birthing my own four children to help me relate to my clients. I aim to facilitate birthing experiences tailored to the desires and needs of each client, thus creating an event they will remember with joy for the rest of their lives. I will establish a relationship of trust with my clientele, so they feel safe and comfortable enough to allow me into their lives during the intimate time of childbirth. My business will serve anyone with a desire to birth their baby, no matter who they are, what their background is, or how the world views them.

About Me: ~ I love being a doula! My journey of serving expectant and laboring women, as well as assisting their partners or support persons, has been both humbling and inspiring. It is an honor to walk the path alongside them as their lives are forever changed in a truly meaningful way. Each birth is transformative and unique.

~ I have assisted women in childbirth for over 25 years and naturally fell "head over heels" into doula work in 2009, transitioning from social services work into both birth and postpartum doula services, child birth education, and training doulas. Not only do I have the ideal job, but I thoroughly enjoy each and every client that I am privileged to serve. I am grateful to have apprenticed with Claire Stanley, (a 40 year seasoned birth worker) for 2 years and have shadowed remarkable doula colleagues. I credit my mother's love of labor and delivery, (She served as a RN director for 40 years & most of my life,) for my passion. In order to serve families more efficiently, In 2014, I linked my productive practice (formerly, In Due Time Doula Services) with my fabulous business partner Angie Rosier. Together our Birth Learning practice has been extremely accomplished.

~My philosophies include a blend of personal, compassionate and professional attention to clientele. My commitment and devotion would be unfathomable without the support of my business partners, my 5 cool children or my extremely kind and generously supportive husband.

~ Each birth is important and remarkable.! I have worked with a great number of VBAC, twin, special needs, high risk, veteran and high anxiety mamas. Additionally, I teach childbirth education and provide postpartum services, specializing in overnight care with a majority of our babes being multiples. It will be my great pleasure to join you in your journey and serve you, which you certainly deserve!

About Me: I am a birth doula, postpartum doula and board-certified music therapist serving families in Salt Lake County. I love working with all families including LGBTQ+ parents, adoptive parents, and single parents. I accompany families giving birth in the hospital, a birth center, or at home, and I support all types of birth. I believe it is every birthing person’s right to be educated about their birth options, and to have a birth experience that is safe, supported and empowering.

As a board-certified music therapist, I have extensive clinical training on how to use music to help people reach goals, experience deep inner connection, and process difficult emotions. I specialize in Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth, an evidence-based technique where I help expecting families incorporate music into their labor in order to experience deeper connection, confidence and strength during their birth experience. I also help parents write original songs called "womb songs" to their babies, facilitating deep bonding and connection.

About Me: I am a licensed massage therapist since 1997 and a doula since 2003. I have a private practice in Clearfield called The Healing Tree Massage, Bodywork and Doula Services. I am from Utah and love this beautiful outdoor state.

I have 3 amazing children who are my teachers. With each of my children they taught me different unique things going through the birthing process with them. I cherish these lessons and I am always pursuing new ways to grow in everything that I do.

Pregnancy, birth, and babies...I love it all. I view birth as an opportunity for healing and growth. This is also an opportunity to listen/communicate with your body. I love assisting mothers and fathers in having rewarding and positive birth experiences. This is a parent experience not just a mother experience. I enjoy helping the partner be involved in this process.

I bring a lot of unique qualities to a birthing experience. I teach dance, yoga, and meditation classes which help with movement, visualization, and finding a balanced/centered place within. I offer a free massage/energy work session as part of my doula package. Touch can be a very useful tool at a birth experience as well. I specialize in energy work which is also very helpful because it deals with more of the emotional and mental components. I use techniques such as rebozo and spinning babies. I also do belly binding. I am happy to work with families on payment options as well.

I delight in creative adventures of all kinds and varieties. In my down time I like to hike, read, watch movies and play with my children in various ways.

About Me: Hi ! I came into being a birth worker after my long traumatic birth of my second child. I have always loved pregnancy, birth, the incredible female body and what we are capable of! Birth is an incredible life changing experience and I beleive with the right birth team it can be a very positive and empowering experience. My philosophy is that I beleive every woman should know that she has the strength and power inside of her to give birth , whether that is vaginal or Belly. I beleive in breastfeeding but I also know the struggles that can come with it and beleive that fed is best formula or breast milk. I also believe that the post partum period is not talked about or prepared for enough. It is my hope and my goal to help you not only prepare for your birth but your post partum experience and to help make it as smooth transition as possible.

I am 28 years old and currently live in Provo Utah with my Husband of 10 years and our two children. I enjoy practicing Yoga, being out in nature and dancing. I have worked in the medical field as a medical assistant to a Family doctor and Obstetrician for 6 years and I loved it very much. Interacting and building a relationship with my pregnant mommas was the highlight of my job. I decided after my last child I was going to stay home and become a Birth Worker and be the voice I didn't have at my son's birth. With that being said it is my passion to provide emotional and physical and educational support to as many families as I can thoughout their birth and early post partum journey. If you would like to set up a meeting to see if I would be a good match for you I would love to hear from you!

Feel free to email, text or call me.

Thank you! And I look forward to meeting you.

About Me: A mother of four and a passionate empowered birth advocate, I have been teaching prenatal and postpartum yoga for almost five years. The joy I felt at helping expectant women prepare for a healthy and happy birth was so strong that it led me to becoming a Birth Doula and a Childbirth Educator. I wanted to have an even deeper impact on women's birth outcomes, and to be involved in the most sacred aspect of all--welcoming those sweet babies earthside, and witnessing a woman discover her feminine power. Because my own first birth had been so difficult and traumatic, and I struggled for a year with postpartum depression, I was determined to change the outcome for my next deliveries! I didn't fully understand why my first birth left me in such a state of trauma. It had felt violent, jarring, and life-threatening, even though there weren't any complications and I delivered a healthy baby girl vaginally in the comfort of my own home. How could I account for my utter physical and emotional depletion?

I knew there had to be a better way to give birth, and that knowledge led me on a grand journey. I studied all the renowned approaches and techniques--Bradley, Birthing From Within, Lamaze, Hypnobirthing, Calm Birth, Khalsa Way--and learned so much from each of them. With the birth of my fourth child, puzzle pieces came together, and all my studying and experience culminated in the most peaceful, gentle birth I could have ever hoped for. Even my recovery was wonderful. From there, I couldn't help but share this with other women, to help them realize their own personal power, to help them have a gentler, more peaceful birth experience.

What I know now that I didn't know then? We can be a passenger in the "labor vehicle" as it speeds, out of control, down the freeway, or we can get in the driver's seat and take ownership of our bodies, our labors, our postpartum experiences, and our feminine power. It takes preparation. It takes bad-ass courage. And it takes emotionally opening up. But believe me--when you discover your voice in the labor room, you'll have it for the rest of your life!

Along with my birth and postpartum services, I offer full weekend couples retreats, couples workshops, private sessions, and weekly yoga classes. When you enroll in the Bodhi Birth Childbirth Education Course, you receive a full 250-page manual, 3 CD's (Pranayama, Guided Mediations, & Yoga Chant), and laminated labor guides. The Bodhi Birth philosophy is about "waking up" to your potential, owning your birth experience, and discovering your voice. Join me for a holistic, whole-body-and-soul preparation--you're ready for this!

<3 I look forward to meeting you! <3

About Me: I have been passionate about helping moms and families my whole life. My own mother suffered severely with mental illness and I always knew she would have been "mother of the year" if she didn't have the issues that she did. Because of this, I wanted to use my experiences of not "having a mom" to better the lives of those around me.

Over the years this evolved for me. In 2007, through my experience in an unplanned pregnancy that ultimately led me to placing my sweet baby girl for adoption, I was lead to becoming a birth doula. This experience was positive in so many way. This was my 2nd birth, and through some medical complications, ended up being a completely unmedicated birth that I was not prepared for. Oh, how grateful I was for an amazing doula as my support at that birth. I was in full active labor when it was discovered that my blood was far too thin for me to safely have an epidural. That was so scary to be told I was going to need to push a baby out unmedicated with no previous planning. As I went through the phases of labor and started doubting that I could "do this" my doula looked me in the eyes and told me that I could. This will always be a defining moment of my life. The power those words coming from her were for me and how amazing it was to actually feel my baby coming out of me, and connecting with the birth like I had never imagined. That was so powerful to me, I actually left that experience feeling I could do "anything" and went on to run a full marathon 5 months to the day after she was born.

I've used this experience to help educate moms and dads to know their options, to know they need to be informed consumers when they are going to have a baby and to really know while unmedicated births are not right for everyone, they can be achieved and are amazing when they are supported in the right way. My whole heart believes that an ideal birth looks different for everyone and we make choices for our bodies and our babies with the absolute best intentions.

I am a trained hypnodoula through Hypnobabies and an APPA certified Placenta Arts Specialist. I am also the owner of Bloom Women's Center: Pregnancy and Postpartum self care in Roy where I have created a community and resources for moms and families to be their best postpartum. We have many resources for moms with the heart of the center being a professional kitchen for placenta encapsulation and other placenta arts.

I would love to talk with you about your pregnancy and birth preferences and support you and your partner in any way that I can.

About Me: I am a well-trained doula who is very passionate about what I do! I have trained as a birth doula through DONA International, and through Birth Learning as an Advanced Doula. I have also been trained specifically in working with survivors of abuse - and in the use of a rebozo for comfort during pregnancy, labor, and birth. I am a trained postpartum doula through Midwives College of Utah - an internationally recognized school of midwifery. Additionally, I am a yoga instructor and have worked with women in each trimester of pregnancy.

I believe that birth is normal and natural and that we should trust women and their bodies more! I also believe that having choices and being informed about your options are some of the most empowering and important things in ensuring a positive birth experience. I hope to help all those I serve feel as though they had these things and to come out of birth feeling as powerful and amazing as they are!

The postpartum period is not always recognized as the incredibly significant and important time that it is. I love having the opportunity to nurture and support mothers through this life-changing experience, and to help families make a more smooth transition with the addition of a new baby. The journey doesn't end at birth, and I would be so honored to help any mother have a more pleasant fourth trimester!

About Me: Hi there! My name is Savannah and I am a DONA International trained birth doula currently finishing certification. I grew up in a large family of mostly boys and have always had a love for kids and a fascination with pregnancy and birth. As a single and childless gal, it wasn't until my sister-in-law introduced me to the concept of a doula that I finally moved out of my bubble of secretly loving pregnancy and birth and took a swan dive into the world of all things birth related.

It has been an incredible journey to learn about the miracle of pregnancy and birth. I am honored to be a woman and honored to work with women and their partners. Helping people is my passion and empowering parents to have a positive and life-changing birth experience is what I do as a doula. My passion for helping and supporting people is the base for my philosophy as a birth doula and motivates my efforts to help you achieve your birth goals - whatever they may be.

My hobbies include living, traveling, and learning abroad; studying a multitude of cultures and religions; and finding any way to help spread self love and respect for all humans on this earth.

About Me: I love this amazing work of helping women bring new babies into the world. As a doula, I do most of my work in the background, supporting the birthing family in a way that is respectful and empowering. As Barbara Katz-Rothman so thoughtfully said, “Birth is not only about making babies. It’s about making mothers — strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.” I am here to give support in whatever way I can, and to remind women of their innate power in birthing and caring for a new babe.

I specialize in physical and emotional comfort measures, natural pain coping techniques, and birth advocacy. My ability to be a calm and informed presence in the room provides comfort not only to the mother, but also to the loved ones supporting her in the birth experience. Offering constant and compassionate support in whatever type of birth is desired is my entire purpose as a doula. And my greatest joy is in helping a mother achieve a birth experience that is positive and beautiful and cherished. It’s an absolute honor to be invited to attend a birth, and to witness the wonder of a baby joining a family.

Please feel free to give me a call. I would be happy to meet with you or just chat with you to see if we click.

About Me: My name is Amanda Smith. I have been passionate about birth since I had my first daughter in 2009. I wanted to know everything there was about having a wonderful experience through the pregnancy and also birth and beyond!! I took a Bradley Method 12 week class and met some amazing birthing Momma's, that I am still blessed to call friends still to this day! I first attended a birth in March of 2010 and I have been hooked on helping women have a positive experience ever since. I had my second daughter in 2011 and again had such a wonderful experience! I had both of my children in a hospital, but I did it my way. I had no interventions, had a doula at both births and wanted to help other women have the birth they wanted! I looked into the certification process for a few years, when my children were a little older I decided to go for it! I went through the Dona.org organization and it has been such an amazing experience. I have attended both Home and Hospital births and my goal is to help assist women in the most positive experience they can have. I have no personal preferences on the way a birth "should be". I wholeheartedly believe each birth is unique and precious. I take clients from all walks of life because I believe that having a doula creates an experience you will remember in a positive way forever.

About Me: I had both of my children in Germany where childbirth preparation courses, childbirth, and postpartum care are all covered by the healthcare system. After we moved back to America when talking with my friend Rachel about her childbirth experience, she said: "I felt very alone throughout the whole process, no one really told me anything to prepare me or help me cope with labor. My birth was a very hard experience for me, and although i want more children, It makes me very apprehensive to think about doing that again." Another friend of mine, Kim, said: "After i had my baby, everyone thought i should be so overjoyed but all i felt was exhausted and anxious. I never felt like i had anyone to talk to about it. I felt so alone." These talks and countless others like them inspired me to become a doula and try and change the birth and postpartum experience into a positive one and help women get the support they deserve.

My goal is to help women find their birthing voices and have all the information they need to make the right birthing choices for them and their past and their situation, whatever that birth may look like. Only when fully informed and carefully pondered can we make the choices that we can stand behind and never regret. No matter your birthing preferences, i would be honored to help support you along your journey.

I am a trained Curtis Method Hypnodoula and a trained CAPPA Postpartum Doula, and am working on becoming certified for both.

I hold a monthly Positive Birth Gathering in Utah County and a Birth Book Club. I love getting involved in my community and helping women prepare for and have a positive birth experience in any way I can.

About Me: BreeAnn first became involved with birth as a profession after the natural hospital birth of her first child in 2012. Her passion grew as she studied childbirth, drawn by the emotional and spiritual implications birth has on the life of both mother and child. In 2014 she became trained as a professional postpartum belly binder, helping women recover postpartum, and a year later as a birth doula. She incorporates energy healing into her practice, helping women clear emotional blocks and negative beliefs surrounding pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.

Currently, BreeAnn is training as a Stillbirthday Bereavement Doula, and following the long path to eventually study as and become a midwife. For now, she finds great fulfillment in joining women on their journey on the path to motherhood and discovering their innate powers of creation through pregnancy and birth. She loves presenting at local conferences and expos, and is working on writing a book about cultural birth postpartum practices.

In addition, BreeAnn is a fantasy novelist, publishing her first book, “Woven,” in summer 2017.

She lives in Ogden, UT, is wife to an amazing “baby-catching” husband, and the mother of four children.

About Me: I first heard the term doula when I was pregnant with my fourth but dismissed the option because it sounded like one more nurse in the room. Later, when I fully understood what a doula was, I really regretted not having one. After my personal birth experiences I decided that not only would I have a doula for baby five but I also wanted to be one, I wanted to help bring education, options, respect, rights, and validation to birthing women. And I didn’t want to stop there, with birth, I wanted to continue it into the postpartum phase and even before pregnancy and after postpartum; pretty much anytime someone needed the emotional, physical, and informational support that a doula could provide while they faced things that were new, hard, different, painful, and challenging. Doula all the things!! (We all need an in-laws doula, a car shopping doula, a potty training doula…amiright!?) I retired from a decade of running a successful preschool and started my doula adventure, training as a doula while hiring the trainer to be there as my doula for my 5th birth which I decided to do at home. The birth was absolutely amazing and it solidified my desires to do this work for others.

I am a certified birth doula through DONA and CAPPA, and bereavement and adoption doula through Stillbirthday, a certified Advanced Trained Doula through the MCU, and trained through CAPPA and MCU as a postpartum doula. I am a childbirth educator and doula mentor, amd labor doula trainer for CAPPA. I believe in providing highly professional and personalized services with no agenda. I SUPPORT, I do not STEER you toward decisions or methods. I work with all choices: epidural, unmedicated, induction, hospital, home, planned Cesarean, etc. I have experience with multiples, HG, high risk, PMADs, VBAC and VBA2C, fetal position, and more. I provide a full service package that includes birth photography and pampering for mom. I would love to meet with you today to explore your desires for doula support.

About Me: I have had the privilege of attending births for 14 years, all while giving birth to four of my own children. I have been teaching Hypnobabies for 9 years. I am also a Mother to Mother counselor through Breastfeeding USA and love to support you in your breastfeeding goals as well.

My own four very different birth experiences have really left a lifelong imprint on me as a woman, as a mother, and as a childbirth educator and doula. I have given birth once at home and three times at the hospital, including twice by unplanned cesarean. With each of my births, I had loving and strong doulas by my side. It was through my own difficult and beautiful birth journeys, that I learned that every birth has the potential to be empowering and that hiring a doula is one of the best ways to ensure exactly that. I am happy to support you in reaching your birthing goals, whatever they may be.

About Me: My name is Amanda Jenkins and I love birth! I am the second oldest of 8 children and witnessed 3 of my younger siblings’ births as they were born at home. As a child I loved reading all of my mom’s books about pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and mothering and grew up excited to experience birth myself.

I enjoy camping, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, and generally being outside. I am a terrible gardener, although each year I am determined that this will be the year I actually get something to grow and each year I wonder what happened. I play piano and enjoy playing duets with my husband on the cello. I served an LDS mission in Peru and speak Spanish fluently.

My favorite thing is being a mom. My husband and I had our little boy in 2013 at a freestanding birth center with an amazing midwife. It was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. With the support of both my husband and my mother as well as my midwives, I felt so loved, protected, and empowered. Our second and third children were born at the same birth center and we had an equally positive experience!

Since experiencing it myself, my love for birth has just kept growing! After having my first little boy, I decided that I needed to become a doula and help other women discover their positive birth experience as well. I certified as a birth doula through the Childbirth International Doula certification program and also spent some time volunteering with the U of U Doula program. I believe every woman deserves to have the best birth possible, and I want to help you achieve your birthing goals. Contact me today by email - DoulaManda15@gmail.com, or by phone - 801-791-5138.

I will be your birth advocate, and there is nothing I want more than to watch mothers achieve the birth of her dreams, whatever that may mean to her. However, my main focus is to help reduce medical interventions, and bring birth back to an intimate dance between mother and baby.

My postpartum work is also very extensive and I have had many opportunities to gain experience with preemie babies and also twins and triplets. I adore postpartum work, and the freedom it gives to hardworking mothers. About Me: Hello, I'm Rachel and I'm a Dona Trained Doula, and the path that I took to get here today was many years in the making.
Many years ago a family member had a doula for her birth, and right there, my interest was sparked and over the years I would think, maybe this year I will do this, but, as we all know life always has something to get in the way. It wasn't until I had my own medicated hospital birth of my child, did I fully want to go ahead and begin my own doula journey.
I completed my doula and childbirth education through Salt Lake Community College, and from there I completed a postpartum and advanced doula training through Midwives College of Utah.

Birth is not a one size fits all situation. My goal as your doula is to make your birth a memorable experience. Whether you have a medicated or unmedicated hospital, birth center, or home birth, I'm by your side. I will provide you with all the information you need, empowering you to have blessed day as you bring your baby into this world.

About Me: Hi, thanks for taking a minute to read about me!

I am a mother, wife, yogi, bookworm, and wanna-be world traveler. I am also a birth doula, Hypnobabies instructor, placenta encapsulation specialist and trainer, bengkung belly binder- offering differing styles/patterns for binds, and a fertility educator.

As a doula and childbirth educator, I love to help moms have the best birth possible whatever that means to them. Providing moms with knowledge equates to power for them and their birth experience. Helping women learn and understand tools needed to help create a peaceful birthing experience, is something I consider vital for a birthing woman and am proud to offer that.

I have supported moms in many birth situations such as vaginal breech birth, home births, planned epidurals, special needs c-section, and unmedicated births. I am very familiar with Hypnobabies, Bradley, and HypnoBirthing methods of childbirth as well as many other mindful birthing practices. I have built and maintained good working relationships with many of the care providers along the Northern Wasatch Front and am committed to creating and maintaining a positive birth experience for a mother and her birth team.

My role as a postpartum service provider is multi-faceted and I try to help my clients however is needed. The most popular ways I do this is with placenta encapsulating and belly binding. I've seen amazing benefits from both services that helps new mothers ease into their new roles confidently. I also help with breastfeeding as needed and can refer to experts in this field if it is beyond my knowledge.

As a fertility educator, I strive to help women understand their menstrual cycle and fertility patterns. Being aware of our fertility pattern is the first line of defense in spotting any type of menstrual or infertility issues, all of which have something to do, on some level, with our hormones. I help women recognize that what we put in to our bodies has a direct effect on the many uncomfortable symptoms that women experience on a regular basis. I want women to have a happy period!

If any of this sounds like something right up your alley, let's chat!
Please visit my website for class listings, availability, contact info, and documents for my services.
I am proud to serve the women in Salt Lake, Davis/Weber counties, and surrounding Logan areas.

About Me: Hello families! I am so excited to start working with each of you. This journey of being a doula is just beginning for me and I am so excited to help families bring their babies into the world. This is such a true calling for me. You can trust that I will be full- heartedly in every step with you. If you have questions or need me by your side, I will be there. I am offering Postpartum Doula support as well as Birth Doula support. You can even save by doing both. Entrust your birthing process with me and I ensure you will have a beautiful experience the whole way through. I have your front, back, and sides.

A little background information about my work as a Doula. It all began when I started working with crystals and crystal sound therapy. I one day had a vivid realization that I needed to be in the rooms where babies are being born to help them transition in to this life in a harmonious way. My hope is that by creating a sacred space for this no matter where at, baby can hold this vibration throughout their whole life. The crystal sound therapy and crystals really help to harmonize the vibration of whatever room your child is being born into, allowing their transition to Earth to be more smooth. This is a little extra service I provide that is a beautiful synchronicity with the whole birthing process. If you are interested in this being incorporated in with your birth, I am more than happy to do so.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I am very excited to start working with you.

About Me: I am the mother of three wonderful children earthside, and one that lives on in my heart. All four of my births have been incredibly different and fundamentally influenced my perspective on birth.

I am passionate about family-directed, physiologic childbirth, and believe the need for caring, sensitive and knowledgeable support is imperative. I view births as a very normal part of life, not inherently an emergency. I believe in evidence-based information, informed decision making, and intentional choices. There is significant value in the power of birth, and it can be an event that transforms a birthing person and their family. I am a strong advocate of natural childbirth and trust in your innate ability to birth your baby, but I am also fierce about your right to make choices according to your own individual needs. Your body, your baby, your birth. I support your right to birth wherever and however you choose and believe that a positive birth experience is possible with these key principles:

Informed Decisions, Confidence, and Support.

Birth is unpredictable. It's primal. There is no way to know how it will unfold, but when you make DELIBERATE choices that serve you best you can feel positive about your birth experience, regardless of the unexpected twists and turns labor might take.

I've been attending births for two years, and have supported medicated, unmedicated, cesarean, and VBAC births. My goal is to help make your childbirth experience the best that it can be, by supporting you and offering evidence-based information and resources as you prepare for the day you will bring your child into this world.

When I'm not attending births, I'm homeschooling my three rascals and dabbling in photography, while dreaming about having a hobby farm somewhere greener.

Send me a message! I'd love to meet with you and hear about the birth you envision. You can contact me by text at 801.857.5182, through email at Kera@deliberatebeginnings.com, or on my website at www.deliberatebeginnings.com

About Me: My passion for working with pregnant moms, started at massage school in 1997 there I was introduced to the idea of natural childbirth and prenatal massage.
When I got pregnant I decided to take a Bradley Method class to prepare for my first baby and loved the class and birth so much I decided to become a teacher a few years later. I took my first childbirth teacher training in The Bradley Method ® in 2004.
In 2013, after spending time at home with my children for 14 yrs, I became a prenatal massage specialist at Salt Lake Prenatal Massage. I was able to work with hundreds of prenatal and postpartum clients, I now have my own office Mother Nurture Baby in Layton, Utah. I have also expanded my prenatal massage and childbirth education certifications to include Stillbirthday doula certification.
I had three beautiful boys and one sweet girl naturally. I love working with my clients whether it is easing aches and pains during a massage or getting the awe inspiring opportunity to be a part of a birth. I truly love my job and am thankful every day I get to do what I do.

Massage work and doula support combine to bring you the ultimate in care and comfort during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum periods. Reduce the pain of pregnancy with prenatal massage. Change the way you birth by hiring a doula. Have the absolute dream of a pregnancy and birth experience by doing both!

About Me: Hi Mommas! I am Jennifer Harker and I am a DONA trained Birth Doula. All my life I knew I wanted to do something to help people and make the world a better place and after I gave birth to my son in 2013 I found my passion... empowering women to have positive birth experiences.

The birth of my son was the best experience of my life shared with my husband. We loved the medical support and loved the venue, but there was a missing ingredient that I didn't know we needed...a DOULA! I really wish there was someone there to give my husband and I the emotional and physical support to get through those tough moments. My husband was the best support but he at times felt helpless and there were times I desperately needed words of encouragement. Later that year I found a DONA Doula class that I could use as credit to finish my Bachelors and it changed my life.

I am so amazed by the human body and the journey the women go through in labor and delivery and that those positive experiences carry over into motherhood. The births I have attended since then have been the most precious empowering experiences I have seen of motherhood. Gosh we can do hard incredible things!!!

I believe that no matter the circumstance or challenges along the journey of giving birth that a positive experience is possible with the right support. I offer my support and services to mothers and families on this journey.

My services include:
- 2 prenatal visits
- 2 foot zone balance therapy sessions
- help with developing a birth plan if desired
- 24/7 phone and texting support
- continuous labor support
- use of essential oils and acupressure support in labor
- 1 postpartum visit

I am honored to be a witness to the power of women and want to offer education love and support during this miraculous life event.

About Me:

I offer my services to you as a doula here in Utah county. Most of my experience has been obtained as a student midwife, attending over 50 births with Utah midwives at home and in birth centers. I love to support women in labor whether IN or OUT of the hospital.

I have been a mother for over 17 years now, and I treasure that experience. One of the best parts of my life is getting to support other mothers in their process of bearing and raising children. We raised our family for 13 years in Colorado, then a short time in Utah before moving to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2016. I am forever changed by my experiences there. I learned to relax, enjoy my children more, prioritize random acts of kindness, and live in the moment. Driven back to Utah by the 2018 Kilauea eruption, I am now offering my services to Utah families. I bring a sprit of love, respect, kindness and joy to your birth. Aloha! I love what I get to do...

I have trained through DONA as a doula and Birthing From Within as a Childbirth Mentor, but I chose to pursue my midwifery studies over certification. I am on schedule to graduate from the Midwives College of Utah in May of 2019. I currently work as a student midwife for Beautiful Mountain Birth, but find myself available to take on doula clients as well. I am happy to interview with you as you make the important decision of which doula to bring to your birth. May your birth journey be filled with infinite love and gratitude!

About Me: I am a childbirth educator, DONA trained birth doula and Hypnobabies Hypno-Doula. I was put on the path to become a doula after two challenging birth experiences. I learned during my training that there were more empowering and educated choices available. I knew that I wanted to share those options with women and I could make a difference one family at a time. Through much study and preparation I was able to have my own beautiful birth. That powerful experience propelled me even more to help women and families have more positive births and begin their journey to motherhood feeling strong and capable.

I teach How to Birth Like a Rock Star childbirth classes. This program is designed to accommodate women who are seeking an un-medicated birth as well as those planning an epidural. Rock Star is a complete childbirth education that focuses on healthy lifestyle, knowledge and informed consent, as well as meditation and exercises to promote relaxation in labor.

I believe that birth is a monumental event in a woman’s life. It is a day the she will remember forever. It is my hope that every woman may feel valued and powerful during her birthing time. That she will look back on the birth of her baby with great joy. As you prepare to welcome your new baby into your arms, may you choose to have a doula present to support you.

About Me: Hello!
I believe that you can and should feel empowered in whatever way YOU choose to prepare, give birth, and care for your baby!

In 2015, I became a 200-RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and continued studying at Utah Valley University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Education. I studied women's health, nutrition through pregnancy & breastfeeding, anatomy, modifying health behaviors and other health related classes. These classes taught me further, the importance of overall health and wellness (mentally, physically, spiritually & socially). I use this education through Wellness Coaching to benefit women & their families who are struggling with the life changes that come along from having a baby.

Outside of my college training, I recently participated in an internship in San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala where we hosted medical clinics with five Guatemalan Doctors. My favorite part of this internship was working with women who were pregnant or breastfeeding. I also completed an internship with WIC (Women, Infants, Children) where I worked in the lactation department, assisting women with breastfeeding in Provo, Utah.

My passion for yoga and women's health led me to completing a pre & postnatal yoga training to be a Registered Pre & Postnatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT). I love helping women prepare and heal their bodies through Pre & Postnatal Yoga. I believe that breathing and strength building exercises are extremely helpful and important for labor and delivery. My fascination and passion for pregnancy and birth likewise led me to an intensive training with DONA International to become a Birth Doula, on my way toward full certification. I love caring for women in labor and believe that every woman deserves to have an empowering birth experience no matter what type of birth they have.

Besides teaching yoga and attending births, I enjoy hiking, camping, rock climbing, biking and practicing yoga with my husband in Utah!

About Me: I have over 14 years of experience supporting expecting families and new parents! I have a love for teaching and am passionate about providing expecting families with the information they need to make informed decisions along their journey. I've been told my calming demeanor puts new parents at ease. I also know first-hand how challenging the postpartum period can be and how critical emotional and physical support are to healing.

My biggest goal as an educator is to instill confidence in those that take my classes. I have taught Prenatal Classes for over 14 years, both in a hospital and private setting (Utah and Arizona) and am a Certified Lamaze Instructor. Lamaze has one of the most rigorous training programs for Childbirth Educators. My favorite thing is seeing mom and partner's faces light up as they feel more confident about giving birth and becoming new parents when they leave my classes!

I am also a CAPPA-Trained Postpartum Doula. I have supported many families during the postpartum period in a variety of circumstances. I led a very successful New Mom Support Group while our family lived in Arizona and enjoyed educating new moms, watching them rely on each other for support and seeing them develop lasting friendships. I specialize in helping moms that are prone to or are dealing with postpartum mood disorders. I am CPR Certified and have taught safe newborn care classes for over ten years in a hospital setting. I love helping new parents become their own baby-care experts.

In addition to my professional experience, I am a mother to four children. I have given birth four times and bring a lot of wisdom and experience personally to both my birth and postpartum work.

About Me: Hi, my name is Liss. I am so excited that you are exploring the wonderfully beneficial option of adding a doula to your childbirth team! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my qualifications and some of my personal history with you.

I completed my doula certification through both the Utah Doula Association and D.O.N.A. International and have completed a number of continuing education classes. I have attended multiple births, and every one of them has taught me something new. I have served on the Utah Doula Association Retreat Committee and am also a Utah Doula Association board member. I have gained valuable knowledge and insight and have added to my extensive list of resources while serving in those roles.

I love the human body. I love seeing the breathtaking power of a body in action, and learning how everything works. This is never more true than when I am assisting someone through the childbirth process.

My fascination with childbirth started in my Jr. High health class. Part of the curriculum was learning about the reproductive system and included a video showing a vaginal and cesarean birth. In order to watch the video we were required to have our parents sign a permission slip, and my mother chose not to for religious purposes. I was forced to sit out in the hall as the video was shown during class. My teacher, however, sensed my disappointment and that afternoon she put her job on the line. She brought me into the classroom during lunch and allowed me to view the video. I will always remember sitting there feeling awestruck and thrilled as I watched these women use their bodies to usher new life into the world. I was completely hooked, and am eternally grateful for the risk that teacher was willing to take for my education.

I studied medical assisting and nursing in college, and spent over fourteen years working in different faucets of healthcare. Eventually I tired of what I viewed as limitations, games, restraints and politics within the sector. However, I knew I still wanted to help people, and my fascination with the childbirth process was still as strong as ever. I became aware of doulas during my second pregnancy and absolutely loved and appreciated having one there for me when my son was born. I often considered becoming trained and certified myself after that, thinking it seemed like the best of both worlds. After a few years of consideration I finally decided to go for it. I completed the doula certification training and certification processes and attended a number of births before finally creating Outside The Hive Doulas.

Outside The Hive Doulas mission is to embrace, educate, assist, and support all of Utah’s wonderfully unique array of families during pregnancy and childbirth. We celebrate those individuals who don’t quite fit inside the proverbial Utah hive. We serve and advocate for unmarried parents, single parents, teenage parents, LGBTQ+ parents, and parents who drink, ink and swear. Whether you wear garments or gauges, you are guaranteed genuine love and support with us by your side.

My personal goal is to help all families achieve a safe and ideal childbirth experience, by providing them with no-nonsense, straight-forward, evidence based information and support.

I am a proud momma of three human children. I have been a single mom throughout the majority of my time as a parent. As an unmarried, bi-sexual, non-religious woman who became a mother as a teenager I have personal experience with the prejudices one can encounter if they fall somewhere outside the hive. Over the years I have learned how to be proud of my background and how to respond to those who may be uncomfortable with it.

I am a well educated, experienced, highly intuitive, insanely empathetic, crazy compassionate, moon howling, goddess praising, mantra chanting, barefoot, wild hippie. All of these traits, combined with a strong love and passion for what I do, make me an epic doula. I’ll give you honest, straight forward information and will always make sure you feel valued, respected, cared for and strong enough to handle anything that may come your way.

I can’t wait to meet you!

About Me: Hello!

My name is Kristina Clayton and I want to share with you my passion. I found it when I was just 15 years old when my mother shared her birth story with me! Her last born, as an unmedicated birth with a Midwife who catered to my mother's wants and needs. My life's goal is to be what that midwife brought to my mother - support, encouragement, hope, and nonetheless love to mothers. I share this with you as you embark on your journey to find a doula. Birth is an everlasting experience none will forget and I promise to hold your space.

xx Kristina

Primary Service: Postpartum Doula

About Me: I am an experienced postpartum doula, specializing in infant night care for singletons or multiples. My passion focuses on offering a smooth transition into life with a newborn by providing opportunities for mom/dad to sleep through the night while I care for baby. I have been a mom since 2003, and understand the joys and frustrations of taking care of an infant with limited sleep. I am a previously certified Advanced EMT, and currently certified as a BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider. In addition to my own two children, I have recently delivered twins and a singleton as a surrogate. These specific qualifications and life experiences have made my services as a postpartum doula even more integral and meaningful.

As part of my services I will nurture the baby throughout the evening, tending to his/her every need including, but not limited to feeding and burping, changing diapers, bathing, administering medications/supplements, and performing specialty medical tasks upon your instruction.

I will care for mom and support dad, helping you transition into taking care of a newborn by offering breastfeeding/pumping support, hydration/snacks, respectful emotional support, and light housework (washing/sterilizing bottles, changing/folding laundry). I am also available during the day to run any errands you request.

The postpartum period is so unique to each family, and I cherish getting to know each of my families and supporting them during such an intimate time. There are many ways to be a parent, and with this in mind I share my experiences and research, but follow your lead and respect your choices. I look forward to meeting you and your little one!

About Me: I’m Candida Tandoh and I live in Salt Lake City with my family. I am a Birth & Postpartum Doula as well as a birth videographer serving in both English and Spanish.

Before becoming a Doula, my life was completely dedicated to the world of documentary film for over 8 years. That changed in 2015 when I accepted a job working with toddlers and infants. That job turned into a passion, and after having my own child I decided that it was time for me to become a Doula. A few weeks after giving birth, I took the first opportunity I could find and trained with Genesis Birth Company to become a Birth Doula. Since then, I have combined my passions and have never been happier!

I believe that every woman knows what’s best for her body. All births are beautiful and I am here to support you and help you have the birth experience that you want. As a Women of Color, my mission is to empower brown, black, and indigenous women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Along with birth and videography services, I can also help you live a more sustainable life by offering cloth diapering classes. I believe that it is important for us to take care of Mother Gaia while bringing life onto her.

Desde entonces, he combinado mis pasiones y nunca he sido mas feliz.

About Me: I'm Amanda Sharp, Birth Boot Camp Instructor, and Doula. I'm passionate about providing women with education, resources, and information to help them have an amazing pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I have a beautiful daughter and an amazing husband whom I live with in Pleasant Grove, Utah. When I'm not obsessing about all things birth, I love to read, play games, crochet, and hike.

My introduction to the world of birth choices and education came when I was a teenager. I had been researching ways to naturally improve my health, and my research extended into the realm of midwives, doulas, and childbirth education. I felt an instant connection and wanted to learn as much as possible!

As I grew into adulthood, I continued my research, and soon found myself advocating for maternal education and choices in childbirth. I decided to pursue my Doula training in 2014. A few years later I got pregnant with my daughter and chose to pursue childbirth education. After seeking out almost every childbirth education organization out there I decided to train with Birth Boot Camp, because of the beautiful and updated materials, the comprehensive curriculum, and the feeling of community surrounding the company. I am also proud to provide placenta encapsulation and other placenta processing services.

I am happy to serve the birth community throughout Utah, Salt Lake, Summit, and Weber Counties.

DONA Doula Training - February 2014
Birth Boot Camp Childbirth Education Training - June 2017

About Me: Hi! My name is Shanelle. I’ve completed the DONA certified Doula workshop thru the Midwife College of Utah and am currently working toward my international certification with DONA.

Mother of 3 grown home schooled “kidults”, I am anxiously awaiting all the grand babies! I’ve had a passion for pregnancy, birth, breast feeding, and each woman’s ‘babymoon’ since our first baby was born on Maui in 1993.

I was lucky enough to be trained as a breast feeding volunteer councilor with the North Florida Regional WIC office for 4 years when my husband attended U of F. I Currently volunteer at the Pregnancy Resource Center as an options and lifesteps councilor.

I am absolutely enamored and in reverence of the process of pregnancy, birth, and the sacred time of bonding for moms and babies following birth. Firm believer that evidence based education is key to helping each new mom and or couple be at ease and go into their birthing time feeling confident and well cared for by their choice in birth team partners. I look forward to sitting down and discussing what you envision for your birth and the opportunity to help bring your birth plans into reality for the best outcome and memories you can have.

Birth is an amazing, empowering, incredible experience. Each new mom’s journey is different, but they all - every single one - will impact that woman for the rest of her life. My desire is to be there supporting you in your choices every step of the way. I look forward to sitting down and hearing all about what you are wanting, feeling, or even afraid of going in and through the journey of pregnancy and birth.

I can’t wait to be a part of your birth team!
